L’Mint Productions presents A-starr - I Hope You’ll Be Very Unhappy Without Me on

streaming & DL

Likkle Minty has been rolling in reggae circles ever since his school days, giving his peers their real education spinning the rudest hits. As he grew up he got all over the scene from sound system selector to music video director to radio show host. He linked with the Peckings Records crew in 2003 where he’s been a mainstay of the Peckings Syndicate, playing out at dances, ever since.

Minty’s productions have bounced around the place taking in Lovers, Digital and Heavy Bass and now he comes again with some soulful Reggae to further exhibit his eclectic tastes and influences.

This time Minty has connected with A-starr, another big talent from Reggae’s seemingly endless goldmine in North-West London. A-starr and Minty have combined to revision Esther Phillips classic rare groove hit ‘I Hope You’ll Be Very Happy Without Me’. A-starr was the perfect selection with her strong Soul and Gospel influences combining with Minty’s production bringing groove, smooth horns and resplendent with chimes.

L’Mint Productions presents Keri-Ann - Neither One Of Us / Ray Carless - Neither Sax Of Us on streaming & DL

After the Soundsystem bass driver Phobic Riddim and digital bouncer Icy Mint Riddim, Likkle Minty returns with his third release - a venture into smooth Lovers territory - to further exhibit his eclectic tastes and influences.

Minty had the idea of a Lovers Rock tune but it was through his daughter’s friend Keri-Ann that he found the fresh and clean tones to execute it as he imagined. Keri-Ann is not of a Reggae background, but hailing from NW10 has the perfect attitude to rework the Gladys Knight & The Pips classic. There’ll be more to come from the combination of Likke Minty’s productions and Keri-Ann’s sweet voice so this release is the beginning of something special.

And what would Lovers Rock be without a bit of sax? Likkle Minty recruited Ray Carless for a swooning sax version on the Neither One Of Us riddim. It’ll make you weak at the knees!

Lovers Rock never left and Likkle Minty’s new release pays homage in finest style with the great discovery of Keri-Ann.

He linked with the Peckings Records crew in 2003 where he’s been a mainstay of the Peckings Syndicate, playing out at dances, ever since.

After the success of his debut Phobic Riddim, Likkle Minty once again teams up with the UK’s most dynamic rhythm section - Mafia & Fluxy - to offer the Icy Mint Riddim. It’s a real bouncer inspired by the 80’s era digidub and paying homage to Unity Sound and their much vaunted classic LP Watch How The People Dancing.

Features on the Icy Mint riddim include world class veteran Macka B at the top of his game with ‘Either or Either’ alongside two prime cuts from another veteran Starkey Banton renowned for his hits Don’t Dis Ds Ras for Juggling Records and Jungle Bungle for Fashion Records. The veterans are joined on the release by the energetic flows of international touring artist Kenne Blessin, another maverick outta NW10 in Gee Star and Canadian based Juno award winner Kirk Diamond - each making a strong contribution. The project is topped off by a Likkle Minty dub version and the boasty My Sound from Sparky Rugged (on the back of his debut album on Peckings) featuring an original intro from the inimitable Fuzzy Jones.

Icy Mint Riddim gives a nod and a wink to UK Reggae’s golden age with Likkle Minty’s finest selection of vocal talent to pay homage.

L’Mint Productions presents the Phobic Riddim on 7” Vinyl & DL

Likkle Minty has been rolling in reggae circles ever since his school days, giving his peers their real education spinning the rudest hits. As he grew up he got all over the scene from sound system selector to music video director to radio show host. He linked with the Peckings Records crew in 2003 where he’s been a mainstay of the Peckings Syndicate, playing out at dances, ever since. So it’s surprising that only now has he chosen to venture into production and releasing records. Most producers lick one riddim and test the waters. With the help of Mafia & Fluxy, Likkle Minty has created a riddim so nice he’s pressed it twice! Four prime cuts on the Phobic Riddim that couldn’t be held back so he’s throwing them all out.

The Phobic Riddim is released on two 7 inch vinyls & digital download and is going to capture the skank of modern soundsytem goers with its bouncing heavy sub-bass combining with the original digi-dancehall vibes and the reggae spirit of pure conscious lyrics. Old meets new is not easy to pull off but Likkle Minty’s debut release will have MC’s crying ‘pull up.’

The first cut featuring Starkey Banton strikes a chord with all reggae artists highlighting the conspiracy against conscious music in ‘Reggae Phobia.’ On the flip is the dub which demonstrates Likkle Minty’s vast experience and love for his craft. The other 7 inch features legend Macka B who makes a big statement - ‘Get out of the way, move over, culture is coming like a bulldozer’ and, on the flip, Sun-I-Tafari with gravelly tones and gritty intent expressing a determined outlook of positivity.

One thing is for sure with the Phobic Riddim - Likkle Minty has set the bar high for his future productions and the reggae crowd will be eager to hear more.
